General requirements with regard to the CE marking and to EN340

This standard specifies the general performance requirements in terms of ergonomics, harmlessness, size designation, aging, compatibility, protective clothing marking and the information that must be supplied by the manufacturer along with the clothing.
Size designation is according to en13402.

EN510 Protective clothing against moving parts

Specifications for protective clothing to be worn where there is a risk of entanglement with moving parts.

EN11611 Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes

This standard specifies the minimum safety fundamental requirements as well as the test methods with regard to protective clothing including hoods, aprons, sleeves and boots designed to protect the wearer’s body including his head (hoods) and feet (boots) that must be worn during welding operations and allied processes.

EN471 High-visibility warning clothing

EN20345 Safety footwear

This standard specifies the requirements for protective clothing capable of signaling the user’s presence visually, intended to provide conspicuity of the user in hazardous
situation under any light conditions by day and under illumination by vehicle headlights in the dark.

All garments complying with en471 specifications fall into category II. High visibility garments are classified into 3 categories (represented by “x” in the pictogram) on the basis of color, reflection and retroreflection, minimum areas as well as placement of the materials on protective clothing. Class three defines the highest level of visibility.

This European standard specifies the basic and additional (optional) requirements for safety shoes. Listed hereunder are the classes provided for by the law (although not mandatory, class S1P is commonly used):

Class 3

Fluorescent material (fabric) greater than or equal to 0.8 m²
Reflective material (bands) greater than or equal to 0.20 m²

Class 2

Fluorescent material (fabric) greater than or equal to 0.5 m²
Reflective material (bands) greater than or equal to 0.13 m²

Class 1

Fluorescent material (fabric) greater than or equal to 0.14 m²
Reflective material (bands) greater than or equal to 0.1 m²

EN343 Protective clothing against foul weather

This standard specifies the requirements applicable to the materials and seams of protective clothing against foul weather (for example precipitation in the form of rain and snow), fog and ground humidity. Both characteristics fall into three classes.
The resistance to water penetration is shown on the top of the symbol whereas the water
vapor resistance is shown at the bottom of the symbol
